Since I was 3 I have loved horses. At the age of 12 I decided that I wanted a career in dressage and ever since have been working towards my goal of becoming an international dressage rider. Now I'm 24, I'm making it a reality.
After finishing my A levels I started working for Fiona Price-Jones at Sport Lusitano. This was an incredible experience and I worked there until April 2015.
Currently I am working as a rider at Elite Dressage with trainer Anna Ross. When we first arrived my horse Lara and I were competing at Medium level and within 6 months we were rocketed to Prix St George.
In 2016 I made my debut at international level. Representing Ireland at young rider level. Lara and I competed at the 2016 and 2017 Young Rider European Championships in Oliva Nova and Roosendaal.
At the end of 2017 Lara was sold to a lovely home in the USA and so I could focus my attention on my current horse, Dutchman (Jack).
Last year was a steep learning curve for Jack and I. We competed in our first U25 Grand Prix in March and focussed on improving the high level work all year. We competed Inter II most of the year and made the step up to Senior Grand Prix in September.
This year we have made our International Senior Grand Prix debut, we competed at Le Mans CDI 3* and Keysoe CDI 3*.
At Elite Dressage, I have had amazing opportunities to ride really quality and talented young horses. From backing to taking them to their first competitions. I am looking forward to training them up the levels and seeing them thrive in the sport.
Dutchman or as we call him at home Jack has been with me since August 2016. He was bred in the Netherlands by the stud StalMuilwijk.
Jack is 11 this year and my goal with him is to compete at Grand Prix internationally. We have recently made our debut at this level and achieved an international qualifying score at our first time out! He is by the famous stallion Jazz.
Jack is a very sweet and lovely character who is a joy to have around on the yard. He doesn't hesitate to let you know how he's feeling and what he wants.
